Spend a semester researching a topic of your choice. Define a problem within that topic, and propose change that solves the problem using graphic design.
The topic I chose to research was food production in the United States. The issues within the industry are numerous and diverse, but I decided to focus on the problems surrounding food marketing and packaging. I explored confusing labelling terminology, misleading imagery, deceptive packaging and marketing strategies. Some of the proposed solutions include a redesign of the nutrition facts label and a truth-based line of food packaging.
